About the position

The Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) position at the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts is responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of the agency's information technology systems. This role involves applying expert knowledge in risk management, IT security principles, and network design to protect the agency's digital assets. The specialist will manage IT contracts, develop security processes, and maintain technical documentation, contributing to the overall mission of the Commission to enhance the aesthetic excellence of federal projects.

Responsibilities

• Apply expert knowledge of risk management processes and IT security principles.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation under FISMA and other requirements.
• Review existing architecture, identify design gaps, and recommend security enhancements.
• Implement processes to prevent, detect, analyze, and respond to malicious activities.
• Manage multiple IT contracts and serve as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
• Research, specify, and purchase IT-related equipment and software.
• Maintain and troubleshoot the CFA website, ensuring compatibility and monitoring performance.
• Manage the maintenance and access to the agency's digital and paper records.
• Develop telecommunication links for digital video conferences.
• Perform IT systems security, maintenance, helpdesk, and customer support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12 level in federal service.
• Expert knowledge of risk management processes and IT security principles.
• Experience in managing IT contracts and cybersecurity best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) tools.
• Knowledge of Trusted Internet Connection (TIC) 3.0 guidance.
• Familiarity with federal information security regulations.
