About the position

The Information Technology Specialist (Network/Customer Support) position within the Department of the Air Force is primarily responsible for providing a wide range of IT services focused on network and customer support. This role includes leading an IT Customer Support team, administering LAN/WAN systems, and ensuring effective training and problem resolution for users. The position requires a strong understanding of network systems and the ability to manage complex IT equipment and training systems.

Responsibilities

• Administers KTTE LAN/WAN and a broad spectrum of complex IT equipment.
• Provides customer support, assistance, training, and orientation as IT Customer Support Team Lead.
• Analyzes and resolves problems and trends in IT services.
• Uses, maintains, and manages Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) and related tools.
• Trains team members on IT network support and customer support principles.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Must have IT-related experience demonstrating competencies in Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.
• One year of specialized experience at the GS-09 level or equivalent, including experience in IT network systems design and administration.
• Knowledge of network support/systems administration for LAN/WAN and systems principles and practices.
• Ability to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships and communicate effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with IT Service Management Suites such as REMEDY and Integrated Management Data System (IMDS).
• Familiarity with multiple operating systems including Windows, Windows Server, and Linux.
