About the position

The IT Specialist position at Peraton supports the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3, located at Camp H.M. Smith, HI. This role is crucial for providing Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to USSOCOM and its components, ensuring the functionality and performance of network operations and infrastructure. The IT Specialist will perform tier one and two network support, manage network systems, and provide comprehensive technical support to maintain and enhance network performance for deployed forces globally.

Responsibilities

• Provide installation, tuning, testing, operating, monitoring, upgrading, patching, break/fix, defense, and management of WAN and LAN routing and switching infrastructure hardware and software.
• Plan, design, engineer, configure, install, operate, maintain, defend, troubleshoot, and repair LAN/WAN capabilities, including point-to-point circuits and satellite connectivity.
• Provision, operate, manage, and monitor LAN/WAN Virtual Private Network (VPN) services to securely connect remote elements and mission partners.
• Troubleshoot LAN/WAN voice, data, and transmission networks and evaluate the effect of architectural changes on them.
• Collaborate and coordinate with external Government and commercial circuit providers to expedite the restoration of circuit outages.
• Prepare technical implementation plans that provide integrated solutions, including actions, milestones, timelines, and critical paths required for complete solutions.

Requirements

• TS/SCI or above clearance is required for this role.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience with a BS/BA; 6 years with MS/MA; 10 years with AS/AA; or 12 years with a High School diploma.
• A minimum of four years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in implementing, administering, performing testing, and analyzing networks.
• Experience with current and emerging technologies relevant to the task.
