About the position

The summer intern position at Selective's Information Technology department offers a unique opportunity for college students majoring in Computer Science or related fields to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic insurance environment. Interns will work on essential teams such as Application Delivery, Customer Experience, Cybersecurity, and Information Management, contributing to the optimization of operations and enhancement of customer service while securing data.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and support application solutions, providing production support and managing application operations.
• Monitor and manage IT infrastructure, including tools, databases, and end-user computing services.
• Actively manage and monitor cybersecurity tools and systems, identifying and escalating security risks.
• Ensure adherence to IT standards and best practices.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate clearly to support business processes and resolve issues.
• Work cross-functionally with peers and leaders to complete an Action Learning Project.

Requirements

• Must be a current college student majoring in Computer Science or a related field (rising juniors and seniors preferred).
• Demonstrates an interest in learning about the insurance industry.
• Ability to take ownership over work and self-motivate to execute delegated tasks.
