About the position

The Information Technology Technical Writer at United Fidelity Bank is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of the bank's technology and cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards. This role involves collaboration with various subject matter experts to develop and maintain documentation that aligns with security frameworks and supports the bank's cybersecurity and risk programs. The writer will also create content for various media forms, ensuring clarity and engagement for the audience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with presenting proposals to stakeholders for creating new policy content for governance committees.
  • Align policies and standards to security frameworks, such as the NIST 2.0 Cybersecurity Framework.
  • Document architectural requirements for managing technology and cyber risk.
  • Provide administrative coordination across the lifecycle of technology and cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Research, outline, write, and edit technology and cybersecurity content in collaboration with various teams.
  • Analyze information for the development or update of policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Create and maintain document templates adhering to organizational standards.
  • Proofread documents for grammatical and syntactical errors, ensuring adherence to standards.
  • Produce articles, case studies, blogs, and presentations on technology and cybersecurity topics.
  • Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability and consistent voice.
  • Generate innovative ideas for technology and cybersecurity content to ensure audience engagement.
  • Develop editorial processes for effective proofreading and project deadline fulfillment.
  • Track new industry information and best practices to keep documentation up to date.
  • Assist with preparing documents for compliance audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Manage tracking and logging of published technology and cybersecurity communications.
  • Review, edit, and maintain existing documentation to ensure accuracy over time.
  • Gather information from subject-matter experts to develop procedure manuals and technical specifications.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to ensure consistency in messaging across the organization.
  • Develop and implement standardized templates for various types of documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or security field, preferred.
  • 4+ years of work experience in a technical writing capacity.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Thorough understanding of technology frameworks, e.g., NIST 2.0, CIS, COBIT or similar.
  • Understanding of the information security threat landscape and protective measures.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity protection and monitoring tools, risk remediation, and governance processes.
  • General knowledge of security systems, e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems, etc.
  • Understanding of data loss prevention, threat protection, and anti-malware tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity technologies.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical, multi-tasking, and critical thinking skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using risk management platforms such as Audit Board, preferred.
  • Security certification (CISSP, CISA, CEH), preferred.
  • Banking industry experience, preferred.
