About the position

As an Information Technology Technician at Worlds of Fun, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the management of the day-to-day operations of the I.T. Department. This position involves providing comprehensive support for personal computers, help desk inquiries, and server management. You will be responsible for ensuring that all technical aspects of the park's operations run smoothly, which includes troubleshooting network infrastructure problems and monitoring servers and network applications. Your role will also involve direct interaction with end users, providing technical assistance through various channels such as phone, email, or in person. In addition to technical support, you will assist with non-IS functions for the park, contributing to various IS projects as needed. You will be expected to maintain a high standard of guest service, adhering to Cedar Fair's guidelines while interacting with guests and subordinates. This includes initiating guest interactions, answering questions, and providing directions. You will also be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety in your assigned work area, ensuring compliance with Cedar Fair's safety guidelines and reporting any unsafe conditions to your supervisor. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, as you will need to meet the business needs of the park, which may include working nights, weekends, and holidays. Attendance is also a critical aspect of this role, and you will be expected to adhere to Cedar Fair's attendance policies. Overall, this position offers a dynamic work environment where you can develop your technical skills while contributing to the guest experience at Worlds of Fun.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with non-IS functions for the park.
  • Provides technical assistance on IS projects.
  • Provides end users support through the phone, email or in person.
  • Assists with troubleshooting network infrastructure problems.
  • Monitors servers and network applications.
  • Troubleshoots PC hardware and software problems.
  • Installs, supports, and upgrades computer hardware and software.
  • Processes user requests for reports and answers questions from users.
  • Inputs data into computer.
  • Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies.
  • Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of PC software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of personal computer in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to end users and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
