About the position

The Infrastructure and Cloud Engineering Manager will lead a remote engineering team focused on developing and maintaining a user-facing application and internal tools. This role emphasizes a people-first approach, fostering a collaborative and diverse team environment while ensuring the delivery of high-performance, reliable, and secure systems. The manager will oversee technical and people responsibilities, enhancing processes and supporting team growth in a dynamic and evolving technological landscape.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor the engineering team to drive product innovation and excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape product and technical strategies.
• Improve CI/CD processes and system operations for enhanced efficiency and reliability.
• Provide technical guidance through code reviews, pairing, and coaching.
• Lead high-risk, complex projects and research new technologies.
• Build and lead a diverse engineering team that delivers data-driven results.
• Enhance team skill sets and support individual career growth.
• Foster a culture of psychological safety, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• More than 2 years managing a diverse engineering team.
• Over 5 years in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Infrastructure engineering roles.
• At least 3 years at a senior engineering level.
• Full-stack web development experience.
• Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comprehensive understanding of security best practices and site reliability.
• Proficiency with version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Expertise in deploying and managing cloud services in production environments.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the education or educational technology sector.
• Familiarity with technologies such as GitHub, Docker, DataDog, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and AWS services.
