As the Infrastructure and Cloud Engineering Manager at Unreal Staffing, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in leading a compact, fully remote engineering team dedicated to developing, maintaining, and enhancing a cutting-edge user-facing application along with various internal tools. We are looking for a technically skilled, hands-on leader with a people-first approach to establish a new function and team focusing on DevOps, security, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building and maintaining high-performance, reliable, scalable, and secure systems that delight developers, support teams, and users. You will also be responsible for fostering a vibrant, diverse, and collaborative engineering team, ensuring that each member feels valued and supported in their professional growth. Your experience should include more than two years of managing a diverse engineering team, with a preference for candidates who have experience in the education or educational technology sector. You should have over five years in roles such as DevOps, Site Reliability, or Infrastructure engineering, with at least three years at a senior engineering level. As a senior engineer, you will have full-stack web development experience and effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences. You will also possess a comprehensive understanding of security best practices, performance monitoring, automation, and site reliability, along with proficiency in deploying, testing, managing, and monitoring cloud services in production environments. In this role, you will improve CI/CD processes and system operations to enhance efficiency, observability, latency, scalability, security, and reliability. You will collaborate on product and technical strategy with managers and cross-functional team leaders, providing technical guidance to engineers through code reviews, pairing, teaching, and coaching. Additionally, you will build and lead a high-performing, diverse engineering team that delivers data-driven results to support our mission, while fostering a culture of psychological safety, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
