This position is primarily based in a location within PNC's footprint. Responsibilities require time in the office or in a field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities can be performed remotely. Additional locations may be considered. As an Infrastructure Architect Manager Sr., within PNC's Technology organization, you can be based in Phoenix AZ, Pittsburgh PA, Strongsville OH, Dallas TX or Birmingham AL. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the managers of database infrastructure teams, which include technologies such as Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Oracle, Oracle Exadata, MongoDB, NEO4j, Teradata, and Informatica. You will own the technology roadmaps and strategy for each of the enterprise database technologies, ensuring that they align with business strategies and processes. Your responsibilities will also include budgeting and driving cost efficiency of our database platforms, setting and communicating the database platforms SLAs and SLOs, and working closely with peer teams in Database Change and Database Site Reliability. Additionally, you will maintain enterprise standards for database security and encryption, performance, high availability, and disaster recovery, while staying up to date with the latest improvements and trends in the database industry. You will also drive automation and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Director over the managers of database infrastructure teams including Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Oracle, Oracle Exadata, MongoDB, NEO4j, Teradata, and Informatica
  • Own the technology roadmaps and strategy for each of the enterprise database technologies
  • Budgeting and driving cost efficiency of our database platforms
  • Set and communicate the database platforms SLAs and SLOs
  • Work closely with peer teams in Database Change and Database Site Reliability
  • Maintain enterprise standards for database security and encryption, performance, high availability and disaster recovery
  • Stay up to date with the latest improvements and trends in the database industry
  • Drive automation and process improvements

Requirements

  • Leadership, communication, and presentation skills
  • Extensive experience in database management and database engineering
  • Experience managing and prioritizing a backlog of work
  • Architecture background/experience is a plus
  • Capable of managing urgent requests/issues and organizing and driving response
  • Ideally 10+ years in data engineering or architecture and 5+ years in leadership or management
