About the position
The Infrastructure Automation Manager at Alight Solutions is responsible for leading the Infrastructure Automation team, focusing on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules, coding standards, and pipeline tooling. This role combines people management, product leadership, and technical expertise to drive innovation and efficiency within the team, ensuring alignment with company goals and fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, vision, and direction to the Infrastructure Automation team.
- Inspire and manage a team of engineers, including resource allocations, training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of Terraform modules used across Alight.
- Guide the development and maintenance of integration pipelines and IaC testing frameworks.
- Maintain the product backlog, ensuring stories are properly defined and prioritized.
- Work with Scrum Master and Product Manager to align work with product goals and vision.
- Conduct regular surveys of stakeholder satisfaction and implement action plans to improve satisfaction.
- Provide hands-on assistance to engineers related to their work and review adherence to development and security standards.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in infrastructure automation and incorporate relevant advancements into Alight's products and processes.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in infrastructure automation, software design/development, and cloud technology.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, AWS, and other cloud services.
- 3+ years of experience managing direct reports.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proficient with Agile development, Scrum methodology, and DevOps principles.
