About the position
The Infrastructure Automation Manager at Alight is responsible for leading and managing the Infrastructure Automation team, ensuring alignment with company goals and fostering a diverse and high-performing environment. This role involves overseeing the development and maintenance of infrastructure automation tools and processes, guiding a team of engineers, and ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, vision, and direction to the Infrastructure Automation team.
- Inspire and manage a team of engineers, including resource allocations, training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of Terraform modules used across Alight.
- Guide the development and maintenance of integration pipelines and IaC testing frameworks.
- Maintain the product backlog, ensuring stories are properly defined and prioritized.
- Work with Scrum Master and Product Manager to align work with product goals and vision.
- Ensure platform governance, efficient utilization, and compliance with security and operational standards.
- Conduct regular surveys of stakeholder satisfaction and implement action plans to improve satisfaction.
- Provide hands-on assistance to the engineers on your team related to their work.
- Review work from the team to ensure adherence to development and security standards.
- Provide training support related to the use of Alight's IaC tooling.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in infrastructure automation and incorporate relevant advancements into Alight's products and processes.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in infrastructure automation, software design/development, cloud technology.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, AWS, and other cloud services.
- 3+ years of experience managing direct reports.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proficient with Agile development, Scrum methodology, and DevOps principles.
