About the position

Our newly formed Infrastructure & Vehicle DevOps group is the critical connection between R&D and Vehicle Integration and Quality. Join a unique location where cutting-edge technologies meet the challenging vehicle architecture, building innovative processes to implement agile-based practices all the way to factory releases integrating large scale tooling. This group is leading the transformation of the dev and release process of the vehicle to bring the latest in DevOps practices to the vehicle industry. The technical domains and ongoing work streams include software and hardware groups (research, development, and engineering) that work on the most complex issues and challenges facing the new mobility era. We shape the face of the future vehicles in diverse fields by developing cutting edge technologies. As we grow, we keep on adding new areas and fields to explore and develop and have the clear vision of hiring the most qualified and brightest talents in order to excel on cutting-edge and non-traditional automotive technologies. This role is categorized as hybrid, meaning the successful candidate is expected to report onsite at the GM Global Technical Center - Cole Engineering Center Tower at least three times per week minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage Virtual and cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop and deploy new tools on Kubernetes (K8s) platforms.
  • Write scripts and automation tasks using Python, bash, Puppet and Ansible.
  • Integrate automation tools for running large deployments and configurations on virtual, cloud and physical infrastructure.
  • Support end-users and DevOps teams.
  • Collaborate with Dev. Groups, Vehicle Integration / Performance and Calibration teams, and testing teams to improve test automation, code coverage, and test data management.

Requirements

  • High level of Kubernetes (K8s) and container orchestration (at least 5 years).
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash and PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience with Puppet, Ansible and VMWare (at least 5 years).
  • High level of Linux and Windows administration, troubleshooting (at least 5 years).
  • Familiarity with Postgres and MySQL administration and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding computer security concepts.
  • Good knowledge in network topologies.
  • Good knowledge in storage protocols (NFS, SMB).
  • Good knowledge in high availability and disaster recovery concepts.
  • Familiarity with cloud services AWS and Azure.
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively in a global organization.
  • Willing to travel abroad from time to time.
