About the position

The Infrastructure Engineer role at Insight Global involves working with various infrastructure technologies and practices, primarily focusing on AWS and cloud computing. The position requires a strong foundation in programming, networking, and security practices, as well as experience with DevOps tools and methodologies. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of infrastructure systems while contributing to a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage infrastructure solutions on AWS.
• Develop and maintain scripts for automation using Python, Shell, or Power scripting.
• Utilize frameworks such as CloudFormation and Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Ensure security practices are integrated into the infrastructure and cloud services.
• Collaborate with development teams to support the software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Monitor and optimize system performance and reliability.
• Implement disaster recovery and high availability solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience in related fields.
• 4+ years of experience working within infrastructure environments.
• Strong knowledge of AWS and AWS certification.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Shell/Power scripting, and Groovy.
• Experience with infrastructure frameworks like CloudFormation and Terraform.
• Understanding of Linux/UNIX operating systems and their fundamentals.
• Knowledge of database fundamentals including SQL and permissions management.
• Familiarity with networking concepts, TCP/IP, and communication protocols.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with containers such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of application programming interfaces (APIs) and their development.
• Understanding of DevSecOps practices and tools.
• Familiarity with test and quality methodologies, including automation tools.
