About the position

The Infrastructure Engineering TPM Lead at ByteDance is responsible for driving multi-dimensional, business-critical strategic programs across various workstreams and stakeholders. This role involves collaborating with engineering managers and business stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of strategic initiatives, aligning project scope, timelines, and budgets with business goals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project management and technical program management, with a proven track record of delivering complex programs on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Translate ambiguous business goals into clear and measurable objectives and actionable processes/programs.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, and resource allocation for ByteDance strategic initiatives globally.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including capacity planning, engineering, operations, and commercial teams to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management and other key stakeholders on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and incidents, change logs.
  • Lead regular reviews of project progress and leadership readouts.
  • Define, track and report the performance of the business across a number of areas including stability, efficiency, capacity delivery, cost efficiency, organization maturity, etc.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, identify potential risks and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines, protect business outcomes and maintain compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
  • Lead strategic initiatives to solve business challenges across the organization.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex projects from initiation to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5 years of experience in project/program management, with a focus on network infrastructure or private/public cloud computing or hyperscale datacenter infrastructure providers.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software (JIRA).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative with a global team and willing to roll up the sleeves as necessary.
