About the position

As a Network Infrastructure Engineer at RSM, you will play a crucial role in providing technology support to our current and prospective clients. Your primary responsibilities will include launching implementations, providing training, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues for a diverse range of companies. You will be expected to design IT solutions that adhere to manufacturer standards and best practices, manage the installation of network infrastructure equipment such as switches, routers, and security appliances at client sites, and identify cross-selling opportunities. Establishing rapport and trust with key client decision-makers is essential, as is the ability to evaluate client needs through technical assessments and deliver appropriate recommendations. Responsibilities

  • Designing IT solutions with an emphasis on manufacturer standards and best practices.
  • Managing the installation of network infrastructure equipment including switches, routers, wireless, and security appliances at client sites.
  • Identifying and escalating cross-selling opportunities.
  • Establishing rapport and trust with key client decision makers.
  • Meeting with prospective clients, evaluating needs via technical assessments, and delivering appropriate recommendations.
  • Providing exceptional hands-on technical support.

Requirements

  • Fortinet NSE 4 (Network Security Professional) or higher certification is required; NSE 5, NSE 6, or NSE 7 certifications are highly preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Fortinet products and network infrastructure technologies, including advanced firewall configurations, SDWAN, and VPN.
  • Strong understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, including VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS, with a deep focus on Fortinet's security and networking solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous IT consulting experience with mid-market clients, particularly in designing and implementing Fortinet-based solutions.
  • Other relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNP or Palo Alto PCNSE.
  • Experience with Fortinet Secure SD-WAN and FortiAP wireless solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering exceptional hands-on technical support.
