About the position

As a Network Infrastructure Engineer at RSM, you will play a crucial role in providing technology support to our current and prospective clients. Your primary responsibilities will include launching implementations, providing training, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues for a diverse range of companies. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and grow their credentials by attending professional conferences and obtaining certifications that will enhance their professional knowledge in network administration. You will act as a business advisor, delivering timely and high-quality client service to our mid-market clientele. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral, along with strong problem-solving abilities and a solid work ethic. Building and maintaining good client relations will be essential in this role. You will be responsible for designing IT solutions that adhere to manufacturer standards and best practices, managing the installation of network infrastructure equipment such as switches, routers, wireless devices, and security appliances at client sites. Additionally, you will identify and escalate cross-selling opportunities while establishing rapport and trust with key client decision-makers. Your role will also involve meeting with prospective clients to evaluate their needs through technical assessments and delivering appropriate recommendations. The ability to multi-task and manage a variety of projects simultaneously will be critical to your success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Designing IT solutions with an emphasis on manufacturer standards and best practices
  • Managing the installation of network infrastructure equipment including switches, routers, wireless, and security appliances at client sites
  • Identifying and escalating cross selling opportunities
  • Establishing rapport and trust with key client decision makers
  • Meeting with prospective clients, evaluating needs via technical assessments and delivering appropriate recommendations
  • Providing timely, high quality client service to mid-market clientele
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues for a variety of companies

Requirements

  • Degree or Certification in IT-related field
  • Minimum three to five years' experience with related network infrastructure technologies such as Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of Layer 2 technologies and dynamic routing protocols
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage a variety of projects at once
