About the position

The Infrastructure Network Engineer position at NielsenIQ is a critical role within the Enterprise Platforms team, responsible for the implementation and support of network infrastructure systems, primarily focused on the Cisco platform. This role is essential for ensuring that the corporate technologies are best-in-class, as over 30,000 global employees rely on these systems and tools for their daily operations. The engineer will work closely with various business areas, including HRIS, Finance, Recruitment, T&E, and Procurement, to support the requirements of NielsenIQ's business processes, applications, and systems. In this role, the engineer will be accountable for the full life cycle management of global Data Centers and the networking infrastructure across worldwide office locations. This includes supporting the global WAN and establishing best practices for infrastructure operations to maintain a stable environment. The engineer will implement, maintain, optimize, and support various network infrastructure technologies, including Cisco Wireless Technologies, Data Center Switches, and Routers, as well as WAN network technologies such as VPN and MPLS. The position also involves developing and planning wireless network enhancements, performing wireless audits, and ensuring compatibility with existing networks. The engineer will operate and maintain advanced Cisco tools and applications, manage infrastructure documentation, and participate in on-call rotations to provide production support according to service-level agreements. This role requires a proactive approach to crisis management and troubleshooting, ensuring that all network issues are resolved efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, maintain, optimize, and support network infrastructure technologies, including Cisco Wireless Technologies and Centralized Controllers.
  • Develop and plan wireless network enhancements.
  • Maintain knowledge of new wireless network products.
  • Perform wireless audits and recommend solutions for incompatibility.
  • Operate and maintain advanced Cisco tool and application aware technologies, such as Tetration and StealthWatch.
  • Operate and maintain advanced Data Center features such as ACI, Identity Services (ISE), and Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA).
  • Install and configure infrastructure management systems and related software.
  • Develop and maintain capacity management reports and trend analysis.
  • Practice and provide oversight of network asset management, including maintenance of component inventory.
  • Perform production support of network infrastructures according to service-level agreements.
  • Execute and oversee network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Monitor ticket queues, troubleshoot, and resolve assigned tickets.
  • Manage required infrastructure documentation including system dependencies and maintenance plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • More than 5 years' experience in network engineering.
  • Industry Certification or equivalent knowledge on Cisco Systems.
  • Proficient knowledge of operating system administrative concepts.
  • Proficient in crisis management and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in production support processes and problem resolution according to service-level agreements.
  • Experience with software development artifacts for developing physical infrastructure designs.
