About the position

The position requires a highly skilled individual with a proven track record in managing and directing infrastructure IT projects and operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in organizations similar in size to DISA-J6, with a strong emphasis on mechanical and electrical infrastructure knowledge. This role demands excellence in planning and executing mission-critical infrastructure maintenance and incident response, ensuring continuous operation of the infrastructure. A clear understanding of critical building systems, levels of redundancy, and the key technology components that interact within the infrastructure environment is essential. Additionally, the candidate should possess a basic understanding of network design and a strong grasp of energy use and reduction opportunities within infrastructure settings. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional oral and written communication skills, particularly when engaging with the highest levels of management. They will be responsible for translating high-level functional and technical requirements for infrastructure based on interactions with the user community. Experience in operating, maintaining, and consolidating enterprise-level infrastructure is a must, along with the ability to evaluate and establish facility requirements effectively. The role also involves managing the execution of Data Center Consolidations and overseeing Data Center and/or Application Migrations. Furthermore, the candidate should be well-versed in industry-accepted standards and best practices related to infrastructure operations, server room consolidation, networking, passive cabling, and electrical maintenance. Experience with risk management strategies, including documenting risks, assumptions, and constraints using historical data and expert judgment, is crucial for understanding project limitations and ensuring successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and manage infrastructure IT projects and operations.
• Maintain continuous operation of mission-critical infrastructure.
• Evaluate and establish facility requirements for infrastructure.
• Translate high-level functional and technical requirements based on user community interactions.
• Manage the execution of Data Center Consolidations and Data Center/Application Migrations.
• Implement risk management strategies to document risks, assumptions, and constraints.
