About the position

Kennedy Jenks is seeking a Water/Wastewater Infrastructure Project Manager to lead various projects in Southern California. This role focuses on managing water and wastewater infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, and delivering projects on time and within budget. The position offers opportunities for career development in technical, managerial, and business development areas, emphasizing a solutions-oriented approach in a dynamic consulting environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all phases of water and wastewater projects, including planning, design, and construction support.
  • Ensure projects comply with contracts, drawings, specifications, codes, and regulations.
  • Coordinate with sub-consultants for scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Communicate with clients to establish project goals and schedule.
  • Supervise and support engineering and technical staff, including mentoring junior engineers.
  • Monitor financial aspects of projects, track progress, and adjust resources as needed to meet project milestones and budgetary constraints.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships and identify project needs.
  • Lead client meetings to secure new business opportunities and contribute to marketing efforts.
  • Oversee the preparation of engineering documents, contract documents, and project reports.
  • Serve as the point of contact with clients and lead the preparation of client presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in water/wastewater infrastructure projects, with 2+ years in a project management role.
  • California Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain California PE registration within 6 months of hire.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the water/wastewater industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent client service and interact positively with clients.
  • Experience supporting business development.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and other Kennedy Jenks offices as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
