About the position

The Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) Services Training team is seeking a dedicated Education Development Senior Engineer to enhance technical support education. This role is pivotal in creating and delivering technical course content and supporting materials tailored for technical support engineers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in product development, sales engineering, technical support, or professional services, particularly within the realm of enterprise storage training or similar technical engineering disciplines. A passion for teaching, sharing knowledge, and developing training programs is essential, as is the desire to collaborate with engineers globally and contribute to the ISG Services Training team. As an Education Development Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing technical courses focused on enterprise servers, solutions, and storage systems. The product families you will work with include ThinkSystem, ThinkAgile, ThinkServer, System x, BladeCenter, and various cluster solutions such as iDataPlex and NeXtScale. Course delivery will utilize a range of methods, including eLearning, remote sessions, and instructor-led training. Success in this role requires strong project management skills and the ability to foster relationships with peers across various functions and external partners. The ISG Services Training team comprises instructors, technical writers, multimedia specialists, and enhanced content developers, all dedicated to creating engaging educational experiences that incorporate real-world scenarios through simulations and product demonstrations. The team has access to state-of-the-art labs filled with Lenovo ISG system hardware and solutions, a video production studio, and the necessary software to develop high-quality technical content.

Responsibilities

• Deliver training sessions, webinars, and workshops in both group and individual settings.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of educational materials and make necessary adjustments.
• Manage, implement, drive, and track projects within a deadline-driven environment.
• Collaborate with project managers, subject matter experts, product development teams, and vendors.
• Create instructor materials including course outlines, background material, instructional materials, and training aids.
• Mentor other instructors on subject matter, content, and course delivery techniques for assigned technical courses.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in operating systems administration/support (RHEL, SUSE, VMware, MS Windows Servers).
• 1+ years of experience in cloud solutions administration/support.
• 5+ years of experience in enterprise administration/support.
• 2+ years of technical writing experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in developing technical training collateral for global training providers, professional services consultants, or technical support according to individual objectives.
• Knowledge and experience in enterprise server, solution, and storage associated software.
