About the position

The Technical Infrastructure Program Manager at AWS is responsible for the prioritization, scheduling, and execution of network changes and upgrades across Amazon Data Centers. This role involves managing cross-functional projects that require collaboration with various internal departments and external vendors, ensuring the delivery of high standards for safety and security while optimizing capacity and cost for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the network infrastructure health, customer demand, anticipate risks, resolve issues and initiate corrective action as appropriate.
  • Work with stakeholders to define requirements and processes.
  • Manage the dependencies and the interfaces between projects and negotiate the trade-offs as needed.
  • Participate in the hiring process and mentor others to improve their skills and ability to get things done.
  • Manage multiple competing cross-organizational projects/programs simultaneously.
  • Interact with engineers, technicians, project managers, and senior management on a daily basis.
  • Analyze, interpret, and visualize data using BI management and visualization tools.
  • Drive automation initiatives and simplification efforts in engineering and project/program management to unblock innovation.
  • Create predictable process paths for large and/or complex projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant IT Discipline
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • 5+ years of Data Centre and/or Network Deployment experience
  • 5+ years experience in deploying/operation in Layer 2/Layer 3 networks including DWDM, load balancers, and content delivery networks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience in the management of complex technology infrastructure projects
  • Experience with and deep understanding of multiple project management methodologies
  • Familiarity with the AWS network architecture
  • 5+ years experience in Physical fiber plant OSP/ISP
  • Excellent multi-tasking and prioritizing skills
