About the position

The Infusion Nurse Manager at Sarasota Arthritis Center is responsible for overseeing patient care in infusion suites, managing nursing staff, and coordinating with healthcare providers. This full-time role includes staff training, budget management, compliance assurance, and direct patient care when necessary. The position allows for some remote work and requires strong leadership and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement training programs for nursing staff to ensure they are up-to-date with the latest best practices and technologies in infusion therapy.
  • Manage and lead a team of infusion nurses, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
  • Work closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Assist in management of the department's budget, equipment purchases, and other operational costs under the financial guidance of the CFO and/or CEO.
  • Manage inventory of infusion supplies and equipment, ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly and arranging for repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Ensure all procedures comply with healthcare regulations and standards, conducting regular audits and quality assurance checks.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, treatment plans, and other relevant documentation.
  • Fill in and cover infusions when nursing staff is off or out sick, which may require travel to respective locations.
  • Run reports to monitor performance metrics for the infusion suites.
  • Develop and monitor infusion protocols, ensuring adherence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in alignment with the Infusion Nurse Manager role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in infusion therapy or related field, at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems (NextGen preferred).
  • Experience in Critical Care Medicine (Drug reaction protocols, etc).
