About the position

The Infusion Nurse at Brigham & Women's Hospital is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in the outpatient infusion area. This per diem position requires collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure patient-centered care in a safe environment. The role emphasizes the importance of building relationships with patients and their families, maintaining clinical excellence, and adhering to nursing standards of care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care for patients in the outpatient infusion area.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for assigned patients.
  • Document patient care clearly and in compliance with nursing standards.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in quality management and improvement programs.
  • Educate patients and families about their care and discharge plans.
  • Supervise and orient new staff members and students as needed.

Requirements

  • Current RN license in Massachusetts.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required for newly licensed nurses.
  • 5 years of nursing experience, including proficient IV skills and central line access.
  • At least 1 year of experience in Medical-Surgical, Emergency Department, or Critical Care settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ambulatory Infusion Center experience preferred.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health records preferred.
