About the position

The Infusion RN - Per Diem position at Carson Valley Health involves managing individualized nursing care for patients requiring infusion therapy. The role emphasizes the nursing process and primary nursing principles, ensuring age-appropriate care for patients ranging from 8 years old to geriatric individuals. The RN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, demonstrating the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the diverse needs of patients.

Responsibilities

• Manage individualized, goal-directed nursing care through the nursing process.
• Provide age-appropriate care for patients aged 8 years and older, including geriatric patients.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team.
• Perform admission assessments and document patient needs and treatment plans.
• Identify patients requiring IV therapy and document their needs upon admission.
• Assist with telemedicine using electronic tools for patient assessment.
• Develop and communicate realistic treatment plans in collaboration with patients and families.
• Implement medical treatment plans and nursing interventions as necessary.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and interventions with each patient visit.
• Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care provided.

Requirements

• Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current Nevada RN license.
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Professional customer service skills.
• Two years of nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to read and communicate in English; bilingual abilities preferred.
• Previous infusion nursing experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• ONS/ONCC Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate or willingness to complete within 6 months.
