About the position

The Injection Molding Process Engineer plays a crucial role in both administrative and technical functions within the plant. This position is responsible for overseeing project organization, documentation of material trials, and providing technical training to plant personnel. The engineer will lead the injection molding processes, manage capital expenditure projects, and ensure continuous improvement in equipment performance and operations.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical injection molding lead in the plant
• Write and manage all Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) projects for the injection molding department and other facility projects as needed
• Coordinate equipment moves, upgrades, and installations
• Oversee new tool start-up and qualification
• Investigate equipment failures and implement corrective actions
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve equipment performance and operations
• Train maintenance technicians on proper machine operation and injection molding processes
• Maintain machine and tool preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and quality issues
• Manage third-party tool work in conjunction with Corporate Tooling Engineer
• Enforce safety rules daily and intervene to correct unsafe actions and conditions
• Perform various other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of proven hands-on injection molding process experience
• Ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics/drawings
• Experience with continuous improvement programs
• Ability to specify molds and machines for application
• Familiarity with ISO 9001
• Good leadership skills and supervisory experience preferred
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English; bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
• Mechanical Engineering or Technical degree is a plus
• Willingness to travel occasionally
