About the position
The Process Technician "A" at Georg Fischer is responsible for overseeing mold and tooling changes, troubleshooting machinery, and ensuring efficient production processes in the injection molding department. This role requires leadership skills to train and guide other employees while maintaining safety and quality standards in the production environment.
Responsibilities
- Changeover of tooling and/or mold base.
- Troubleshoot all operating equipment.
- Process all materials for injection molding.
- Start-up and shut down of the molding department.
- Ensure proper materials are used at each machine.
- Set up accessory equipment such as material feeds and auxiliary cooling.
- Maintain safe operation of machinery and tooling.
- Keep set-up records on tools, preventative maintenance, and run profiles.
- Adjust machines to produce quality products.
- Train Operators and Technician "B".
- Operate all equipment within the department.
- Report any safety problems to the Supervisor.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized area.
- Cover shifts in the absence of the Supervisor.
- Support the established quality policy.
Requirements
- Minimum of eight years of plastic processing experience or six years in a similar role with a certificate from an accredited trade school.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to read and write English clearly and concisely.
- Thorough knowledge of machine and tooling functions/interactions.
- Ability to perform machine repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Experience in making adjustments to injection molding processes to ensure quality.
- Leadership skills to train and improve the knowledge of other employees.
