About the position

The Injection Molding Process Technician is responsible for overseeing mold and tooling changes, troubleshooting machinery, and ensuring efficient production processes. This role requires a strong understanding of injection molding operations and the ability to lead and train other employees. The technician will maintain safety standards and quality control while working with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Changeover of tooling and/or mold base.
  • Troubleshoot all operating equipment.
  • Process all materials for injection molding.
  • Start-up and shut down of the molding department.
  • Ensure proper materials are used at each machine.
  • Set up accessory equipment such as material feeds and auxiliary cooling.
  • Maintain safe operation of machinery and tooling.
  • Keep set-up records on tools, preventative maintenance, and run profiles.
  • Adjust machines to produce quality products.
  • Train Operators and Technician 'B'.
  • Operate all equipment within the department.
  • Report any safety problems to the Supervisor.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized area.
  • Cover shifts in the absence of the Supervisor.
  • Support the established quality policy.

Requirements

  • Must meet all requirements of a Process Technician 'B' and 'C'.
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to read and write English clearly and concisely.
  • Minimum of eight years of plastic processing experience or six years in a similar role with a certificate from an accredited trade school.
  • Thorough knowledge of machine and tooling functions and interactions.
  • Ability to perform machine repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Ability to lead and train other employees.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with sophisticated set-ups in plastic processing.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
