About the position

The Injury Claims and Medical Records Case Manager position is an entry-level role at a small law firm in Atlanta, GA, focusing on personal injury cases. The candidate will provide administrative support to legal professionals, manage legal files, and assist with the organization of medical records and claims. This part-time position offers the potential to grow into a 38-hour work week after a probationary period.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to lawyers and legal professionals
  • Organize and maintain legal files and documents
  • Transcribe dictations and prepare correspondence
  • Assist with document management systems and databases
  • Answer phone calls and handle inquiries with professionalism and discretion
  • Set up and track injury claims
  • Obtain pertinent information from clients, including treatment status, doctor appointment information, changes in medical care and/or work status, documents and records information
  • Obtain medical bills and records from healthcare providers
  • Review and organize extensive client documents including medical bills and records, letters, and legal documents
  • Organize and maintain medical records
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all records
  • Retrieve and file medical records requests
  • Knowledge or obtain knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
  • Become familiar with electronic health record systems

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in data entry and document management systems
  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
  • Ability to proofread documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion
