About the position

The Injury Prevention Specialist (IPS) at Amazon will play a crucial role in enhancing workplace health and safety by focusing on injury prevention and proactive health management. This position involves analyzing ergonomic risks, performing biomechanical assessments, and leading initiatives to improve employee safety and wellbeing within an Amazon Fulfillment Center. The IPS will work closely with associates and operational leaders to foster a culture of safety and health, aiming to prevent injuries before they occur.

Responsibilities

• Minimize the risk of ergonomic injury to employees through awareness, education, and early intervention.
• Dive deep and learn each job function within the Fulfillment Center (FC) and understand the ergonomic and physical demands of each task.
• Be actively involved with improvements to the standard work process, evaluating potential poor ergonomic conditions through change management processes.
• Evaluate trends and provide analysis of all soft tissue injuries and develop action plans to mitigate risk.
• Frequent engagements with both associates and operational leaders.
• Support site leadership in the implementation and management of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Job Rotation policies.
• Partner with the onsite medical team to implement treatment plans for first aid cases based on injury type.
• Maintain all first aid credentials.

Requirements

• Must be a Certified Athletic Trainer, by either the Board of Certification (BOC) or equivalent State Certification.
• Must have a valid card evidencing successful completion of a First Aid, CPR, and AED course from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital recordkeeping.
