About the position

The Process Technician position at E Ink involves executing various chemical processes within the Ink Microcapsule and engineered pigment manufacturing flow. This role requires knowledge of the IP, Encapsulation, and Separation phases of Ink Microcapsule production, as well as the manufacture of Pigment through Reaction, Drying, and Dispersion. The technician will operate processing and packaging equipment, handle chemicals, and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Execute batch processes within all phases of ink and pigment manufacturing according to documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Complete tasks safely, efficiently, and effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Understand established batch sheets, HMI, and electronic equipment for various operations.
  • Handle issues and challenges as they arise while remaining flexible to changes.
  • Complete assignments with productive quality output in accordance with established standards.
  • Understand metrics of labor utilization and task efficiency to determine productivity.
  • Wear appropriate process PPE including fire resistant clothing, steel toed shoes, nitrile gloves, and respirator.
  • Collaborate in a team-based operation requiring cooperative engagement with co-workers.
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma with 2 to 3 years of manufacturing process knowledge; equivalent experience in a chemical manufacturing environment can substitute for ink process knowledge.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and flexible to adapt to changes.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver 5-gallon buckets weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for the majority of a ten-to-twelve-hour workday.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in chemical manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of waste water treatment processes.
