About the position

The Ink Technician at American Packaging Corporation is responsible for supplying the pressroom with all necessary materials for the production of flexible packaging products. This role involves following established procedures for color matching and control, maintaining inventory, and ensuring safety protocols are adhered to in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow established color matching and color control procedures for the department.
• Perform all necessary recording functions, labeling of each batch/drum, inventory ticket, batch ticket.
• Assist the shift supervisor as required.
• Blend or prepare all other applied materials for each press run, including solvents, lacquers, and adhesives.
• Maintain supply of materials throughout the press runs.
• Receive materials and rotate stock, including forklift operations.
• Follow all department and plant safety procedures and actively participate in safety programs.
• Demonstrate a high level of self-motivation and advanced prioritization skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
