In this role, you will be responsible for the technical handling and management of both first and third-party inland marine claims from the First Notice of Loss (FNOL) through to settlement and recovery referral. This includes conducting coverage reviews, assessing legal liability, performing quantum analysis, managing indemnity mitigation, overseeing expense management, ensuring timely and accurate settlements, and facilitating subrogation referrals. You will provide technical claims analysis and support to team members, reporting directly to the North America Inland Marine Claims leader. Your responsibilities will include applying your strong technical capability to investigate inland marine losses and claims, evaluating policy coverage in a dynamic, high-paced team environment while adhering to AIG Marine Claim Handling guidelines and best practices. You will also be tasked with providing timely and detailed claim information to management and key business stakeholders, managing appropriately skilled vendors to support objective and factual claim investigations, and resolving inland marine claim disputes and litigation amicably, in accordance with corporate guidelines. Additionally, you will share insights and lessons learned with underwriters and actuaries to mitigate future losses and provide valuable risk management guidance to customers and brokers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in AIG's marine insurance portfolio.
