About the position

The Innovation Instructional Coach for PK-8 at Free Horizon Montessori is responsible for enhancing student achievement by supporting and developing self-directed, reflective teachers and educational assistants. This role involves collaborating with adult learners to foster a collegial learning culture, implementing school and district improvement initiatives, analyzing data for instructional adjustments, and co-creating best instructional practices within a Montessori framework.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with instructional leadership, teachers, and assistants to implement existing and new curricula and assessments.
  • Support and implement school, district, state, and federal initiatives.
  • Develop and teach in-services, workshops, and professional development.
  • Develop, coordinate, and support Induction for new teachers.
  • Communicate with school-level leadership through a variety of means.
  • Serve as a champion of the school’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Work in cooperation with all stakeholder groups to implement quality standards put forth by the American Montessori Society.
  • Demonstrate facilitative leadership and servant leadership principles.
  • Establish trust, rapport, and credibility with the entire school community.
  • Facilitate conversations with individual teachers, level teams, whole staff, and other stakeholder groups, which may lead to coaching cycles, study groups, PLCs, etc.
  • Complete all required training for school and district assessments.
  • Develop school wide assessment schedules and finalize testing schedules 2 weeks prior to testing beginning.
  • Train instructional staff as needed and required on test administration, required timelines, reports and more as needed.
  • Oversee Test Administration assuring fidelity and compliance.
  • Provide data and reports as required.
  • Serve as a Liaison for Transparent Classroom.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required.
  • Montessori credential from a MACTE-accredited program strongly preferred.
  • Colorado Teacher Certification in Elementary Education or Secondary Core Content Area preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of successful teaching experience, Montessori environments strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated classroom implementation of Montessori and educational best practices and instructional strategies across content areas.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data analysis and data-informed instructional planning.
  • Exhibited leadership in working with professional staff, students, and the community, including effective group facilitation.
  • Expert level competency in use and integration of technology to complete instructional planning, record keeping, and feedback.
  • Commitment to the school’s and district’s mission, vision, values, and philosophy, including objectives identified within the school’s Strategic Plan.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in training, teaching, and supporting adult learners.
  • Experience mentoring and/or facilitating change to improve instructional programs and outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Completion of FEMA Standard Response Protocol training for school personnel within 60 days of hire.
