About the position

The Inpatient Dietitian position at Concord Hospital involves providing clinical nutrition care for patients of all ages, utilizing current nutritional therapies through the Nutrition Care Process (NCP). This part-time role requires collaboration with healthcare teams and oversight of diet technicians, ensuring high-quality nutritional support in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Completes Nutrition Care Process (Nutrition Screening, Assessment, Intervention, Monitoring and Evaluation) with documentation according to policy.
• Tracks productivity and collaborates with the healthcare team, participating in patient care huddles.
• Writes diet orders including oral, enteral, and parenteral according to diet order writing privileges policy.
• Instructs and educates patients and families on nutritional principles, special diets, food selection, drug/nutrient interactions, and nutrition-related core measures.
• Supervises and supports the activities of Diet Technicians.
• Provides evidence-based nutrition education to providers, medical students, residents, dietetic interns, and nutrition students.
• Manages the Smart Heart Meal Program and provides Parenteral Nutrition Service (PNS).
• Conducts Enteral Nutrition Metabolic Calorimetry competencies and policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Five to six years of formal training or education beyond high school (e.g., Master's Degree or five-year program).
• 4-year degree in Nutrition Science or equivalent and Dietetic Internship.
• Masters' degree required for new graduates beginning in 2024.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) certification required.
• Licensed Dietitian (LD) licensure required, with a 90-day grace period for new RDs in NH.
• 2 years of experience working in clinical nutrition in an acute care setting preferred.
