About the position

The Inpatient Instructional Designer at Bellin Health is responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive training programs for Epic applications within the organization. This role involves creating high-impact training materials, mentoring credentialed trainers, and supporting end users in mastering Epic systems, ultimately aiming to improve healthcare workflows through effective education.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a training program for assigned Epic applications in collaboration with the Training Manager.
  • Master specific Epic applications and workflows to effectively train others.
  • Build, test, and maintain the training environment for Epic applications.
  • Create and maintain training materials, including job aids, to facilitate user understanding.
  • Train credentialed trainers within the organization on Epic applications.
  • Communicate effectively with the Epic team, leadership, and end users to ensure successful training outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing support for Epic applications and assist users in adapting to new functionalities.
  • Plan and lead classroom training sessions for clinicians on Epic applications.
  • Identify gaps in user understanding and develop educational strategies to address them.
  • Manage time effectively and prioritize competing user demands.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, education, or a related field preferred.
  • Epic application certification preferred.
  • Three to five years of healthcare experience with a fundamental understanding of related workflows.
  • Proven communication skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Demonstrated leadership in change management.
  • Detailed understanding of workflows and system configurations in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience in adult education with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with authoring tools such as Articulate products, Captivate, and Dreamweaver.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using project management software.
  • Experience with Flash and Rapitivity.
