About the position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Monument Health is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care in inpatient and ambulatory dialysis units. This role involves working under the supervision of a physician or Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. The LPN plays a crucial role in patient assessment, medication administration, and care planning, contributing to the overall health and well-being of patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in inpatient and ambulatory dialysis units.
• Administer and document medications according to best practices and departmental policies.
• Assist RN with data collection pertinent to the assessment process.
• Participate in care planning and the development of nursing interventions.
• Provide patient education materials and reinforce health teaching as directed by RN/provider.
• Ensure accurate and clear documentation in patient records.
• Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and continued education/training.
• Assist in onboarding and mentoring of clinical staff.

Requirements

• Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification from the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 60 days of hire or transfer.
