About the position

The Inpatient Medical Coder at Excelon Solutions is responsible for accurately coding inpatient medical records to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. This full-time position requires a strong background in medical coding, particularly in inpatient settings, and offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment focused on quality and accuracy in healthcare documentation.

Responsibilities

• Accurately code inpatient medical records according to established guidelines and regulations.
• Review and analyze medical documentation to ensure proper coding and billing.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and coding issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations.
• Participate in quality assurance and compliance audits.

Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in medical coding, with at least four (4) years in inpatient coding.
• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
• Certification from one of the following: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding practices.
