About the position

The Inpatient Pharmacy Clinical Operations Manager at Sibley Memorial Hospital is responsible for overseeing the pharmacy department's operations, including personnel management, medication procurement, and the integration of pharmacy technology. This role involves participating in quality assurance activities, managing sterile compounding processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The manager will work closely with various stakeholders to develop and monitor pharmacy services aimed at enhancing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pharmacy department operations including scheduling and personnel management.
• Manage procurement of medications and sterile/non-sterile compounding.
• Coordinate pharmacy workflow and integrate pharmacy technology to support best practices.
• Participate in quality assurance activities and represent the department on hospital-wide committees.
• Serve as a resource for pharmacists and healthcare practitioners.
• Collaborate with the Director of Pharmacy and other managers on departmental projects and services.
• Develop and monitor pharmacy services for direct patient care.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for sterile compounding and hazardous drug programs.
• Manage staffing, recruitment, discipline, training, and development of direct reports.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy resulting in PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
• Active District of Columbia pharmacist license.
• Completion of an ASHP accredited residency program or equivalent experience.
• Advanced training consistent with an MS, MBA, MPH, or equivalent managerial experience.
• At least two years of hospital pharmacy practice experience.
• At least two years of pharmacy supervisory experience preferred.
