About the position

The Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient 2 at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital is responsible for preparing medication orders and assisting in the dispensing and transporting of medications under the supervision of a staff pharmacist. This role is crucial in maintaining quality assurance standards and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, thereby impacting patient care positively.

Responsibilities

• Maintains quality assurance standards and required documentation; maintains regulatory cleanliness compliance.
• Assists in the preparation of medication orders, including workflow management, basic preparation & dispensing, and non-sterile compounding.
• Uses automated/electronic systems to manage product preparation, inventory, patient records, and regulatory compliance.
• Supports various inventory activities, including inventory storage, ordering, rotating, beyond use dating, and cleanliness.
• Pursues proficiency in compounding sterile preparations and/or other advanced skills.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience as a pharmacy technician or in a related field.
