The Certified Pharmacy Technician II provides essential support to the pharmacist by reviewing, compounding, and dispensing medications. All work is carried out under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, ensuring that all processes adhere to the highest standards of safety and efficacy. This role is critical in maintaining the flow of medication within the inpatient pharmacy, contributing to patient care and safety. As a Certified Pharmacy Technician II, you will be responsible for compounding and preparing various types of medications, including sterile products, oral medications, topical treatments, and controlled substances. You will also be involved in high-risk medication processes as defined by the entity and authorized by a physician. Your duties will include delivering and exchanging medications to the respective patient areas, documenting pharmaceutical activities, and ensuring the accuracy of data through both automated and paper systems. In addition to medication preparation and delivery, you will respond to customer requests for pharmacy services, operate automated dispensing technology, and manage inventory by ordering, receiving, restocking, and rotating medications. You will also play a role in training new employees, contributing to process improvement projects, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, including inspections of medication storage areas and controlled substance inventories.
