Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense prescribed medications for patients.
• Perform compounding of medications.
• Assist in managing inventory.
• Perform charging and crediting functions for medications associated with drug distribution processes.
• Perform routine clerical/administrative tasks.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Use appropriate aseptic technique.
• Handle controlled substances appropriately.
• Complete all educational modules.
• Attend regular staff meetings.
• Keep abreast of departmental changes/current FHS policy and procedures and The Joint Commission requirements.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program.
• One year of hospital work experience or hospital rotation within an accredited training program that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities.
• Current license as a Pharmacy Technician by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy.
• Possession of a current Washington State Driver's license required only for those staff with an 'off site refill' assignment.
