About the position

The Inpatient Pharmacy Technician at Cambia Health Solutions plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of billed charges related to pharmaceuticals and medical treatments. This position involves conducting post-service audits and utilizing knowledge of drugs to support the healthcare analytics team in creating a sustainable healthcare system. The role requires collaboration within a caring team environment, focusing on improving healthcare processes and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize work and coordinate activities to ensure timely audits according to the team's workflow.
  • Analyze billings to determine consistency with medical records and reimbursement policies, identifying additional information as needed.
  • Follow strict guidelines to ensure work meets corporate standards for accuracy, timeliness, quality, and compliance with regulations.
  • Organize and maintain reference documents, policies, and procedures for easy access.
  • Meet production requirements and quality standards for all assigned work.
  • Contribute to departmental efficiency by being flexible and cross-trained on other functions.
  • Perform projects as requested by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Pharmacy Technician certification.
  • 2 years of experience in a hospital or residential treatment facility.
  • 3 years of health insurance claims experience or analytical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in payment review or coding is a plus.
  • Demonstrated competency in claim review and experience using billing and claims forms.
  • In-depth knowledge of drugs and pharmaceuticals to identify incorrectly billed medications and IV fluids.
  • Familiarity with healthcare documentation and effective communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to meet productivity and quality standards with minimal support.
  • General computer skills including Microsoft Office and Internet search.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in payment review or coding.
  • Familiarity with health insurance claims processes.
