About the position

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Polara Health is responsible for delivering general psychiatric services within various inpatient programs. This role involves managing mental health and substance abuse patients, providing diagnostic assessments, medication management, and participating in emergency care. The practitioner will also act as a liaison between Polara and community providers, contributing to program development and quality improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality diagnostic assessment and medication evaluation/management for various patients.
• Complete diagnostic assessments and manage patients in the Crisis Stabilization Unit and Connections Center.
• Direct, train, and supervise non-medical staff in patient care.
• Maintain quality clinical and administrative records in a timely manner.
• Participate in quality improvement and utilization management programs.
• Consult with the Inpatient Medical Director regarding complex cases and court-ordered evaluations.
• Assist in program development and modification of existing programs.
• Attend regular meetings with medical and non-medical staff.
• Adhere to all clinical, administrative, and personnel policies.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older, or 18 years old with appropriate licensing.
• Must possess a valid Driver License.
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Current license to practice nursing in Arizona with Advanced Practice Certification as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
• Current State of Arizona Prescribing and Dispensing Authority.
• Current DEA certificate.
