This includes prospecting, lead generation, quality call requirements, promoting CBS products, driving revenue to meet or exceed sales targets, maintaining data inputs, utilizing CRM software (Salesforce), and ensuring a positive buying experience. The Inside Sales Account Manager will develop and nurture relationships with assigned customer accounts to understand their needs and preferences. Acting as the main point of contact for customers, the manager will address inquiries, provide product information, and ensure customer satisfaction. The role requires proactive outreach, with a minimum of 50-60 outbound calls per day to uncover leads and meet revenue goals. The manager will also reach out to existing customers to promote products, upsell/cross-sell, and drive revenue growth, while meeting and exceeding sales targets through effective sales strategies and relationship-building. In addition to sales responsibilities, the Inside Sales Account Manager will maintain a deep understanding of the company's product offerings to effectively communicate value propositions to customers. The role involves processing customer orders efficiently, ensuring accuracy in product selection, pricing, and delivery details, and collaborating with internal teams to address any order-related issues. Exceptional customer support is crucial, as the manager will address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure a positive buying experience. The manager will also maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activities in the CRM system, generate regular sales performance reports, and contribute insights for continuous improvement. The Inside Sales Account Manager will gather and communicate customer feedback, market trends, and competitor insights to relevant teams for marketing, product, and service enhancements. Additionally, the manager will champion the company culture by complying with policies for safeguarding customer and corporate proprietary information, working collaboratively with colleagues, attending trainings and sales meetings, and partnering with Sales Enablement to improve processes, tools, and sales collateral.

Responsibilities

  • Develop & nurture relationships with assigned customer accounts to understand their needs & preferences.
  • Act as customer main point of contact, addressing inquiries, providing product information, & ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively make a minimum of 50 - 60 outbound calls per day to uncover leads & meet revenue goals.
  • Reach out to existing customers to promote products, upsell/cross-sell, & drive revenue growth.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets through effective sales strategies & relationship-building.
  • Attend industry events on a voluntary basis to cultivate prospects (approved expenses paid).
  • Learn & maintain deep understanding of our product offerings & updates to effectively communicate value propositions to customers.
  • Process customer orders efficiently, ensuring accuracy in product selection, pricing, & delivery details.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address any order-related issues & ensure timely fulfillment.
  • Provide exceptional customer support by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, & ensuring a positive buying experience.
  • Collaborate across team & cross-functionally to escalate & resolve complex customer issues.
  • Maintain professional attitude when interacting with customers, prospects, & staff.
  • Maintain accurate & up-to-date records of customer interactions & sales activities in CRM system.
  • Generate regular sales performance reports & contribute insights for continuous improvement.
  • Gather & communicate customer feedback, market trends, & competitor insights to relevant teams for marketing, product, & service enhancements.
  • Comply with company policy for safeguarding customer & corporate proprietary information.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enable team success beyond just personal success.
  • Attend trainings & sales meetings as required.
  • Partner with Sales Enablement to improve processes, tools, & sales collateral.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (business, marketing, or related field preferred)
  • 4-6 years proven sales experience (educational supplies &/or ecommerce industry experience a plus)
  • Sales-driven & customer-centric with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Professional Selling Skills (PSS) training preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service
  • Strong problem-solving / partnering skills & ability to handle customer inquiries / concerns effectively
  • Familiarity with CRM systems & sales tools
  • Energetic, self-motivated, & able to thrive in dynamic environment to 'figure it out' when faced with new challenge
  • Pleasantly persuasive (hard-core 'pushy' salespeople need not apply)
  • Relentlessly high standards (never satisfied with the status quo)
