About the position

The Inside Sales Account Manager for Retail Solutions at Johnson Controls is responsible for driving sales and expanding market share within the National Account Retail Sales environment. This role focuses on building relationships with clients, managing the sales cycle, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem resolution. The position offers opportunities for professional development and is part of a collaborative team dedicated to safety and employee wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain responsibility for creation of new market share through sales of loss prevention products and services.
  • Manage all aspects of the sales cycle within the assigned territory, including opportunity identification, pre-sales planning, deal execution, and post-sales follow-up.
  • Secure profitable new business by developing relationships within the assigned territory.
  • Coordinate with clients, engineers, and manufacturing teams to define product specifications and ensure client acceptance.
  • Present products to customers to achieve sale closures on mutually satisfactory terms.
  • Develop annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly plans to achieve business growth opportunities.
  • Participate with regional sales colleagues in sharing marketing intelligence about product opportunities.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with customers to ensure account retention.

Requirements

  • BS/BA Degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of sales or sales management experience within the retail sector.
  • Demonstrated consistent record of achieving performance goals.
  • Experience with product and solution selling.
  • Experience selling to Retailers.
  • Experience selling Loss Prevention systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or MS in Business, Finance, Marketing, or Engineering preferred.
