About the position

The Inside Sales Account Manager for Retail Solutions at Johnson Controls is responsible for driving sales and expanding market share within the National Account Retail Sales environment. This role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with clients, managing the entire sales cycle, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. The position requires a proven track record in complex sales and territory management, with an emphasis on loss prevention products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Create new market share through sales of loss prevention products and services to targeted opportunities.
  • Sell expanded products and services to existing customers within the assigned account portfolio.
  • Manage all aspects of the sales cycle including opportunity identification, pre-sales planning, deal execution, and post-sales follow-up.
  • Resolve customer issues related to invoicing, service, and other concerns to ensure high post-sales satisfaction.
  • Meet and exceed financial targets while adhering to predetermined metrics.
  • Develop annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly plans to achieve business growth opportunities.
  • Coordinate with clients, engineers, and manufacturing teams to define product specifications and ensure product acceptance.
  • Present products to customers to achieve sales closures on mutually satisfactory terms.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers at all levels to ensure account retention.

Requirements

  • BS/BA Degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of sales or sales management experience within the retail sector.
  • Demonstrated consistent record of achieving performance goals.
  • Experience with product and solution selling.
  • Experience selling to retailers and loss prevention systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or MS in Business, Finance, Marketing, or Engineering preferred.
