About the position

The Inside Sales Account Manager (ISAM) at Carolina Biological is a pivotal role responsible for driving sales activities and achieving results within a designated geographical territory. This hybrid position requires the individual to commute to Burlington, NC on an infrequent basis, while primarily working remotely. The ISAM will engage in various sales activities, including prospecting, lead generation, and maintaining a robust sales pipeline using the CBS customer relationship management (CRM) software, Salesforce. The role demands a proactive approach to meet and exceed monthly sales quotas, which involves making a minimum of 50 to 60 outbound calls daily to generate leads and satisfy customer needs. In this position, the ISAM will be expected to provide clear and accurate explanations of product features and benefits to prospects, addressing any concerns in a non-technical manner. Maintaining accurate records in Salesforce is crucial for ensuring quality conversations and effective follow-up. The ISAM will also focus on developing long-term, strategic customer relationships to enhance cross-selling and up-selling opportunities, thereby contributing to revenue generation against monthly targets. The role includes completing an initial training program and participating in weekly sales meetings for ongoing training. The ISAM must maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with customers, prospects, and team members, and adhere to company policies regarding the safeguarding of proprietary information. Additionally, the ISAM may attend industry events voluntarily to cultivate prospects, with expenses covered by the company. Overall, the ISAM is expected to embody a strong work ethic, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and high standards in sales performance.

Responsibilities

  • Meet a minimum of 50 - 60 outbound calls per day to provide leads and meet monthly sales quotas as set by management.
  • Satisfy customer needs using clear, complete, and accurate explanations of features and benefits to prospects while resolving concerns in non-technical terms.
  • Maintain accurate notes in the Salesforce (CRM) system and update records as required to ensure quality conversations and proper follow-up.
  • Develop long-term, strategic value-added customer relationships to enhance cross and up-sell revenue generating opportunities while maintaining a robust sales pipeline.
  • Complete initial training program and attend weekly sales meetings for recurring training.
  • Learn the core features and benefits for all products and services offered by CBS.
  • Maintain a professional attitude in dealing with customers, prospects, and staff members.
  • Comply with company policy for safeguarding customer and corporate proprietary information.
  • Attend industry events on a voluntary basis to cultivate prospects.

Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S. from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years prior outbound inside sales experience in an outbound call environment preferred.
  • Professional Selling Skills (PSS) training preferred but not required.
  • Ability to multitask and excel in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and professional selling skills.
  • Possess relentlessly high standards and a passion for exceeding expectations.
  • Excellent written, verbal (in person), and telephone communication skills.
  • Must be 'coachable' with a predisposition toward continuous improvement.
