About the position

The Inside Sales Account Manager at Univar Solutions is responsible for building business partnerships and growing the portfolio of existing customers. This role requires effective territory management and business planning to maximize sales performance within the assigned geography. The position involves making sales calls over the phone, WebEx, or video chat, and requires a self-starter attitude and the ability to work autonomously.

Responsibilities

  • Improve and expand Univar Solutions position within assigned accounts using a consultative sales approach.
  • Establish and develop customer relationships by evaluating needs and opportunities within customer accounts.
  • Provide customer technical support and consultant services to increase overall value to the customer.
  • Maintain and expand knowledge of products, services, competitive activities, and other general information of interest to customers.
  • Responsible for setting pricing and service levels, as well as maintaining and coordinating customer quotations.
  • Advise local teams including Purchasing and Operations to ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Use accepted Univar Solutions Account Management processes and conduct calls via telephone, WebEx to achieve financial targets.
  • Document all account activity in the CRM system (Salesforce.com).

Requirements

  • High School diploma is required; bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a Sales Position.
  • Ability to strategically plan for territory growth, including effective completion of sales calls for new growth within existing accounts.
  • Experience negotiating and closing large, sophisticated opportunities as well as meeting immediate product and service needs of customers.
  • Strategic business acumen, with the ability to understand the business relationship between manufacturers, distributors, and end-users of chemicals/ingredient products.
