About the position

The Inside Sales Account Manager at Univar Solutions is responsible for building business partnerships and growing sales among existing customers. This role involves understanding customer needs, implementing effective sales strategies, and managing territory to enhance sales performance. The position requires strong communication and negotiation skills to foster relationships and close new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Implement sales calls via telephone, WebEx, or Video Chat to increase profitable sales growth and territory penetration.
  • Establish and develop customer relationships by evaluating needs & opportunities within customer accounts and negotiate optimally to overcome obstacles and gain customer commitment.
  • Develop a business plan to achieve sales goals and objectives.
  • Maintain knowledge of products, services, driven activity, and other general information of interest to customers.
  • Collaborate with sales team members to share standard processes and drive account growth.
  • Document all account activity in the CRM system (Salesforce.com).
  • Perform other related duties as the need arises or requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of sales experience, or 5+ years of sales experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint as well as CRM platforms such as Salesforce.com.
  • Ability to lead time and resources optimally to achieve goals.
  • Strong business sense, including an understanding of the business relationship between manufacturers, distributors, and end-users of chemical products.
  • Well-honed listening skills and a problem-solving attitude to uncover needs and motivations to overcome objections in order to close a sale.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
