About the position

The Inside Sales and Customer Service Representative role at Robert Half involves managing customer inquiries and maintaining customer records for a construction industry client. The position requires excellent attention to detail, proficiency in basic math, and a proactive approach to providing solutions to assist clients. This is a fully onsite position with a standard work schedule from Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer inquiries, orders, and complaints in a timely and efficient manner
  • Generate and distribute sales operation documents including invoices, contracts, pick lists, packing lists, and returns to respective departments
  • Assist in resolving customer complaints to ensure proper service
  • Provide necessary data and backup data to customers and other branches upon request
  • Regular follow-up with customers, branches, and shop/yard operations on open and unresolved customer issues
  • Report any conditions affecting customer satisfaction
  • Handle after-hours calls from security and customers, documenting any complaints for further resolution
  • Open and/or close operation facilities as required
  • Utilize Microsoft Office, Infor and Salesforce CRM for data entry and order entry
  • Schedule appointments and manage email correspondence
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls, providing excellent call center customer service.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role as an Inside Sales and Customer Service Representative
  • Proficiency in answering inbound calls and managing inbound and outbound calls
  • Demonstrated experience in a call center customer service environment
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to handle customer queries effectively
  • Proficiency in data entry tasks and order entry
  • Excellent ability to schedule appointments accurately and efficiently
  • Strong skills in email correspondence and ability to manage professional communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Ability to meet sales targets and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field would be an advantage.
